More Than a Song!

When Christ was born in Bethlehem, the angels sang, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will towards men.”

So in the mist of unrest, uncertainty and insecurity, where is this peace?  Some might say there is no peace. I say, oh yes there is!

There is abundant peace in the hearts of those who have knowledge that their sins are forgiven. It is a peace that remains in the hearts of those who follow Christ. It is referred to as a peace which passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

The apostle Peter tells us to seek peace (1 Peter 3:11). Paul tells us that Jesus Christ is our peace (Ephesians 2:14).

Matthew 2:1-2 “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.”

So who do we seek? Jesus Christ. He is our Peace, He is Jehovah Shalom.

Where can true peace be found? In the hearts of those who have accepted the gift of God, Jesus Christ.

After the season is over, the decorations are gone, the Christmas music has stopped, and you are getting ready for inventory…did I just say that?…sorry….but after the season, there is still peace.

Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

Psalm 29:11 “The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.”

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

2 Thessalonians 3:16 “Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.”

This Christmas season, I wish you peace. I wish you Jesus Christ!
