Just who does God use?

file000606939569There are many changes taking place within store operations. With the growth that the company is experiencing, change is part of it. We now have an East and West division! How exciting is that?

I have been around long enough to know, change only happens here if it makes sense! Those implementing the changes do not take it lightly. Much prayer goes into it. That does not mean it always works, but they try to do the very best they can.

You know if we were all perfect, making changes would be so much easier. But let us face the truth….. Even on our best days…. We can blow it. I look around me and I believe I work with some of God’s finest men and women. I can say with confidence, every department in this company has men and women who have a heart for God. Oh they are not perfect, and that includes me, but our desire is to “honor God.”

So back to my question, just who does God use? Well, the men and women of the Bible… they must have been perfect to be used in great ways for God, right? For example, Isaiah, a great prayer warrior! But wait he at times was weak and wounded. Well maybe, Peter! Yes, Peter for sure had to be perfect! Oh wait, isn’t he the one that denied the Lord? Come on, maybe Solomon… the wisest man on earth… oops, he made some stupid mistakes. What about Abraham, the father of nations? Well, he used his wife as a pawn to save his life. The list can go on. Men and women of faith, who loved God, desired to serve Him and be used for His glory yet realized they had to deal with weaknesses. The Word of God declares:

“ I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, …;” (Isa 42:6) “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee;” (Jer. 1:5)

The God that called us, who knows us better than we know ourselves, is more than able to accomplish His will in our lives! In our weakness, He is strong! (2 Cor. 4:7)

God is not looking for the brightest; in fact, He declares He uses the foolish! God delights in doing great and mighty things through men and women who get it! They get that without Him they can do nothing… but oh with Him they can do all things. God is not looking for perfect people. There is only one perfect, and that is Jesus Christ, God’s only son.

Just think about this…. God gets all the glory when he takes weak vessels like us and accomplishes great things for His name sake and Kingdom.

“He that gloried, let him glory in the Lord.” (I Cor. 1:31)

Who does God use? Those whose human boasting is all gone. Those who realize their self-righteousness is like filthy rags. God uses men and women who depend totally on God’s mercy.

I pray you realize how encouraging this is! God desires to use you and me!
