Just Remembering

Visiting with Jeff, a District Manager, I was reminded of the time I was invited or I invited myself to the pre-inventory meeting. However I ended up there, Jeff was so gracious to give me some time to address the Managers. At that time it was called District 220.

So as I tried to do my part in reminding these seasoned Managers the importance of the number two pencil and the roll of tape (remember only one piece of tape), we all of course laughed. Why? Because this group has been through this process before, and for the most part the meeting is just a  reminder of how things are done.

Some things in life we need to continue doing because it works. Now common sense should tell us, if it doesn’t work we need to change.  I am not talking about inventory now, I am talking about life. If you want things to be different in 2018, maybe you need to do things differently.

The children of Israel in the Old Testament had to learn that.

Deuteronomy 2:2-3 “And the Lord spake unto me, saying, Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.”

What was God telling them? The same verse out of The Message states:

Deuteronomy 2:2-3 “Then God said, “You’ve been going around in circles in these hills long enough; go north.”

Come on! If you want change, if you are tired of going in circles, and if you want things to be different this year, God really does want to help. It really does take more than willpower to change; it takes God.

So I pray this year, you will join me in prayer by once again committing our lives to God. God, help us to stop going in circles!

Dear Heavenly Father, as we enter into a new year, forgive us for the things we did that we should not have done, and forgive us for the things we did not do, that we should have done. We ask, Father, that You will show us the way we need to walk, and show us what we need to do (Jeremiah 42:3). Thank You for mercy and grace. We invite You, Lord, into every part of our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!

2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
