And Everyone Said…

In a number of previous devotionals, I have mentioned how diverse we are. Yet in the middle of all this diversity, I find one word that most of us are familiar with—the word Amen!

This word is usually said or sung at the end of a prayer or hymn. It is a word that is used to express or indicate agreement with whatever was just spoken or sung. (And this word is usually said by a group of co-managers during a co-managers’ meeting….. right after Ken H. speaks.)

But did you know that Jesus Christ is called the Amen?

Revelations 3:14 These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;”

What does this mean? Jesus Christ is the Amen because He is true, and He is certain.

2 Corinthians 1:20 “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”

This means everything God promised is sure and settled. God affirmed and guaranteed His Word through God the Son, Jesus Christ.

He promised to be my Savior (Jude 25) and my Deliver (2 Peter 2:9). Amen.

He promised to be my Peace (John 16:33). Amen.

He promised to the Rock of Refuge (Psalm 31:2) and a Refuge from the Storm (Isaiah 25:4). Amen

He promised to be my Help (Psalm 115:11) and Hope (1 Timothy 1:1). Amen.

He is my Restorer (Psalm 23:3). Amen.

He promised to be my Light in the Darkness (John 1:4). Amen.

Are you getting the message?

Today, Heavenly Father, we just thank You and praise You for being faithful
